Reflexology & Foot Care Treatment
Reflexology is an ancient art of healing that dates back more than 3000 years. It is a technique that involves applying gentle pressure to reflex points in the foot which are believed to correspond to points in the body. By applying gentle pressure to these reflex points, it can help you to relax which can help improve mood, aid sleep and relieve tension. The result is an overall sense of wellbeing.
Reflexology may help to rebalance the body, mind and soul. It may help to allieviate and improve symptoms such as everyday stress and tension and generally restore the body to a better state which might ultimately improve your physical wellbeing.
How might reflexology help me?
Reflexology does not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe but it may be used to help restore the bodys natural state by encouraging the body to work naturally to restore its own health. Each client should bear in mind that everyone is different so each person might experience different sensations and feelings and react differently.
It may help many problems including:
- Anxiety and problems relating to anxiety
- Help relieve tension related disorders
- Improves the sense of wellbeing
- Sleep related disorders
- Clients living with long term debilitating illness
- Stress related disorders
- Skin problems
It may aid:
- Relief from stress and tension
- Improve circulation in the feet
- Encourage the body to heal
- Aid sleep
- Help improve mood
What benefits could be expected?
Reflexology may help to improve blood circulation which helps to transport essential nutrients, oxygen and hormones through the body by massage of the feet.
It may help to bring relief to areas in the feet that are suffering from congestion.
Above all, reflexology gives you, the client, the opportunity to have a chance to rest - to stop rushing around and devote some time to taking care of yourself.
Foot Health Treatments
We all take our feet for granted and at different times our foot care needs change. As children, often the most common complaints are verrucas. As we get older, it becomes more and more important to look after our feet and often it becomes increasingly difficult to do this. This is the time when you need chiropody treatment.
Treatments can be offered by chiropodists or podiatrists and foot health practitioners. Foot health practitioners are able to deal with the vast majority of everyday foot problems while chiropodists and podiatrists also offer foot surgery.
During every treatment, I check the general condition of the feet and if there is anything that needs medical attention, you would be referred to the relevant podiatry service. This is a very important part of the treatment as most people do not see the underside of their feet or even check them over until they experience some discomfort.
As a foot health practitioner, I am able to offer treatment and advice for a range of problems which affect people in their everyday life.
- Toenails trimmed and filed
- Callus removed
- Corns removed
- Cracked heels treated
- Treatment for verruca
- Fungal infections treated
- Athletes foot
- Ingrowing toenails
- General foot checks
- Footcare advice
